Academic Warning
A system that warns students with poor academic performance in the semester to further pursue their studies.
In the case where the average score of academic performance is less than 1.5 or 9 credits or more are evaluated as F grades.
Before the opening of the next semester, the student, the guardian of the student, and the head of the university shall be notified of the warning, and consultations with lifelong guidance professors shall be conducted. (Mail of Academic Warning Notice will be sent)
Students who have received academic warning twice in total will be mandated to register for three credits less the following semester.
1. If a student receives academic warning three times in total during the studies, the student shall be expelled due to poor grades
2. If a student is expelled from the university with poor grades, the student can re-admit the university if there is a vacancy after one semester.

Article 46 of the Academic Rules and Regulations: Regulations on graduation, academic warning and probation.
Article 3 (Criteria of academic warning): Academic warning shall be given to those who have an average score of less than 1.5 or those who have received an F grade of 9 or more credits each semester.
Article 4 (Notification of Academic Warning): The department office in charge shall notify the students, their guardians and the head of the university of the academic warning before the opening of the next semester.
Article 5 (Restriction on the number of credits for course registration): The students who have received academic warning twice in total are mandated to register for three credits less than the maximum credit the following semester.
Article 5-2 (Completion of counseling and programs): ① A student who has received academic warning and probation shall receive extra counseling from a lifelong guidance professor before the opening of the next semester. Depending on the results of the counseling, the student must have psychological counseling conducted by the Center of Teaching and Learning, and Student Counseling Center in Dong-A university.
② A student who has received academic warning twice in the studies shall be required to complete the "Learning and Psychological Counseling Program" (DAU 자기관리학습법 (Learning Talk) course) conducted by the Center of Teaching and Learning and Student Counseling Center next semester.
Article 6 (Academic Exclusion): In the case of a student who has received academic warnings three times in total while in university, the student shall be expelled due to poor grades.
Article 6-2 (Number of Academic Warnings): In Articles 5 and 6, the number of academic warnings before re-admission shall not be counted, and the relevant provisions shall be applied to students who are scheduled to graduate.
Article 7 (Criteria for Academic Probation): A student who falls under the following matters shall be subject to Academic Probation.
1. A student with a GPA of less than 1.2 for the relevant academic year (first and second semesters).
2. A student with a GPA of less than 2.7 for the relevant academic year (first and second semesters) and applies for Academic Probation.
Academic Probation a student can hold shall be limited to once in every academic year, and the student shall be expelled if the student is given Academic Probation twice in total. Provided, the number of Academic Probation a student has received and applied for before the student’s re-admission shall not be counted when the student is readmitted, and the Academic Probation shall not be applied to those who are scheduled to graduate (including Senior).
② Academic Probation process is undergone at the end of the school year.
Academic Probation): ① Students placed on Academic Probation are permitted to register for courses of their probationary academic year. The total number of credits is not subject to Article 5.
② In principle, credits for all subjects in an academic year acquired by a student placed on academic probation in the academic year shall be invalid. However, among the subjects acquired with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and subjects with PASS in the academic year are recognized as acquired at the request of the student placed on academic probation.
③ The maximum credit a student placed on academic probation can registers for courses in each semester, including the credit acquired based on paragraph 2, shall not exceed the maximum credit stated under Article 32 of the "Dong-A University Rules and Regulations.” Provided, the following credits shall be excluded:
1. Special credits
2. Credits earned in volunteer social service courses
3. Credits earned in courses collaborated with high schools
4. Credits earned in University-level Programs
5. Credits earned during military service
