Nonlinear Control System Lab

My primary research interest is in the field of analysis and control of nonlinear systems. In particular, the current research topic includes the feedback linearization technique, output feedback control with design of robust observer, control of time-delay systems, control of nonlinear systems with high-order nonlinearities, and robust control under measurement feedback. Along with these research topics, an on-going project titled as 'Global stabilization of nonliear systems with high-order nonlinearity' is funded by Korea Research Foundation. In this project, I am developing three independent control methods which globally stabilize the nonlinear system against high-order nonlinearity. This problem has a great potential such that it can be further extended to power integrator with time-delay problems, which is new to control society at this present time. As applications, graduate students and I co-work to develop a ball-and-beam system with fault-tolerant control strategy. Also, electromagnetic control system and ultra-precision nano position control for semiconductor manufacturing system are under consideration for potential rsearch problems.
