1. Mission

Based on the Dong-A University’s foundational philosophy of Hongikingan (Humanitarianism), the GSD Department of Architecture aims to study profound academic theories and a wide range of application methods for the development of the architectural culture of mankind, and to cultivate talented professionals with great character, outstanding competencies and leadership. Under our mission of “Cultivating community-leading architects and researchers”, we continue to train students to possess original research skills and leadership that can contribute to the overall urban and architectural field of study.

2. Curriculum

A. Master’s program: Architecture
B. Doctoral program: Architecture
The Department of Architecture offers majors such as Architecture design, Architectural planning, Architectural theory, Architectural history, Urban design, Urban policy and Regional architecture taught by the faculty of the Department.

3. Faculty

The faculty consists of six full-time professors, including one Chair professor, one full-time foreign professor, and five teaching professors. All professors hold Ph.D. degrees and/or certificates of qualified architects. The faculty members are actively participating in academic conferences in the fields of architecture and urban studies and have close ties with governments, research institutes, industry and professional societies for education and research activities. In addition to that, the professors have continued to publish excellent papers in domestic and foreign journals and conferences, while presenting various architectural and/or urban design works. Many are also actively writing in their dedicated fields.
