Professor Mi-Ra Jun, PhD
Biographical Information
Professor Mira Jun received B.S. and M.S. in Food Science and Nutrition from Ewha Womans University at Seoul, Korea. She received Ph.D. in Food Science at Rutgers University, NJ, USA in 2003. She had internship at GlaxoSmithKline (USA), worked as a research scientist at Biological and Chemical Department at Celgene Corp. (NJ, USA) and is employed as a Professor in Dept. of Food Science and Nutrition, Dong-A University in Busan, Korea since 2007. She has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers focusing on Nutraceuticals and Alzheimer’s disease and is an editorial board member for several SCI journals including Marine drugs, Journal of Medicinal Food, Nutraceuticals, and Preventive Nutrition and Food Science. Her current research interests are 1) Structural idenfitication of natural anti-dementia compounds and study on its preventive molecular mechanisms against Alzheimer’s disease 2) Skin physiology and homeostasis research for development of nutricosmetics and cosmeceuticals.
